"The first known reference to the pitcher known as 'biquinhos' (spikes) is from a catalogue of the Nova Fabrica de Vidros Marinha Grande (New Marinha Grande Glass Factory)- Ivima, 1901. It was set in the universe of diamond-tip manufacturing and was produced in the nineteenth century, through manual cutting techniques. Later it began to be produced by the press method, which lasts until today. It has been designed with precision from glass that lends it a refined finish. A wonderful interplay of class and panache, it reflects vividly the brilliant artisanship of the skilled craftsmen."
