The BL28 LED is a new version of the famous Brass Lights by David Derksen. The shape of the lamp is constructed by simply folding a 0.3 mm thin brass plate: by means of an etching technique, the bending lines are applied in the material, after which they are folded by hand and assembled in Eindhoven.

Where the original series of the Brass Lights use the more traditional E27 light sources, David created this new version of the lamp to meet current lighting design requirements. The new lamp, therefore, contains LED light and a diffuser that ensures a better and brighter light output, regardless of the colour of the lampshade. The LED driver is integrated into the lamp. Also, the shape of the lamp has been simplified and modernized, without losing the aesthetics and fragility of the original Brass Lights. Because of the reflection of the environment in the shiny brass surfaces, each facet gets its own colour tone, from dark gold to yellow to beige.
